DBMail powers your email with proven database technology.

As you may have guessed, the name DBMail refers to the fact that DBMail stores your email in a DataBase. Database technology has been around since the seventies and is available in a variety of very powerful, very mature server offerings.

DBMail enjoys all the advantages of your chosen database server:

  • Transactional integrity prevents data corruption
  • Replication and hot-backup of your email data
  • Indexed metadata powering fast searches
  • Scales very well to huge storage volumes
  • Draws on existing DBMA Database administration skills
  • Most efficient use of existing infrastructure

Additionally, because emails are not locally stored, you can connect multiple DBMail POP3/IMAP frontends to the database storage server and serve large numbers of users from a powerful server cluster.
