eGroupWare and DBMail announce partnership

At LinuxWorld Expo Germany, eGroupWare and DBMail unveiled plans to jointly develop new email collaboration software. eGroupWare chooses DBMail as the preferred email server.

Cologne (Germany), November 16, 2006

At LinuxWorld Expo Germany, eGroupWare and DBMail unveiled plans to jointly develop new email collaboration software. DBMail also released DBMail 2.2. and launched a cooperative support program.

eGroupWare - DBMail partnership

eGroupWare will further integrate email sharing with calendaring and other functions of it's leading open source groupware solution.

Quote Lars Kneschke, eGroupWare teamleader messaging:

"The email message store plays a central role in any groupware collaboration environment. Closer integration between email, calendaring and to-do lists will enhance the eGroupWare user experience, and improve knowledge workers' productivity. The database-centric nature of DBMail offers a very promissing avenue for us to quickly realise eGroupWare innovations.

eGroupWare chooses DBMail as the preferred email server."

DBMail will enhance it's email database engine with specific capabilities to accomodate eGroupWare's requirements.

Quote Paul Stevens, DBMail project leader:

"DBMail is pushing the envelope in server-side email sharing. The innovations we're creating 'under the hood' in the email server department are usually invisible to end users. eGroupWare offers a rich user experience for email and collaboration.

Working with eGroupWare, the exciting new developments we're working on become very visible in a widely used collaboration solution."

DBMail 2.2 support program

At LinuxWorld Expo, DBMail revealed it's new product release 2.2 and announced commercial support for the DBMail email server.

DBMail's new 2.2 IMAP email server features full LDAP and active directory integration, fast searches, scalable storage and advanced Sieve filtering capabilities.

Quote Guido Stevens, DBMail.eu marketing and sales:

"DBMail has already attracted significant attention in the run-up to the 2.2 release we're announcing today. We're offering a very fast, scalable email server solution that's easy to administer. And it's free!

We're making money by selling support and hosting services; the core email server product can be downloaded at no cost."

DBMail support and hosted solutions are provided by NFG Net Facilities Group.
